Foamy

I wonder how my daughter wearing her Foamy the squirrel shirt into visit me at work will go over?

Beware of strong language, but its good for a couple of giggles...I think Foamy is highly caffeinated! Check out rant #37 Small, Medium,Large.

Out of order...

I was waiting for some free time to bring this blog up to date with some stories of my past coffee house experiences and steps I have taken so far in this journey. But I get the feeling if I do that, there will still only be that opening post to enjoy!

This past week I got hired by Starbucks. It was my original hope that I could work for the independent coffee shop just down the street from me, but three weeks of less than 10 hours and not be scheduled at all the 4th week ended that phase of my plans. It's all good though. I learned a lot about things I would do different from my short employment. And things to be aware of, like making sure you have the budget to pay the employees you hire, and a back up plan for the times when that is not possible.

Starbucks, as far as a corporation goes, is so far pretty impressive to me. Gotta love insurance for part time employees, a well thought out and hopefully implement training program and get this, it’s within walking distance of my house! I will have the opportunity to open that location with the group of people I have been hired on with. I am excited about having the chance to watch it all come together from the ground up. I think the experience will be invaluable

So I have my black, white and khaki wear in order. I washed my first green apron & look forward to picking up my free pound of coffee next shift!
